It will be 30 degrees at midnight tonight, and I suspect there will still be people here then. I'll be having a sleepover in my lounge room in the air con, because no one will let me set up a blow up pool at home.
I'm loving summer, despite the heat. You can probably tell from the number of summery posts!
Today was particularly adventurous - I had yum cha with the girls from work (we ate the food so quickly I didn't get any photos, but it was delicious) and then had fun adventures at Ikea, where we planned our future houses and bought doors to make into tables for $12 from the 'As Is' section (where display/damaged stock is sold for a fraction of the price). It was amazing. But that is a project that warrants its own post later.
Yesterday I had the best burger ever at Jackon's Restaurant in the Landmark Hotel in Eastwood.
It's the first one on the burger list - 100% Pure Beef Burger.
My friend's brother is the sous chef at the restaurant and everyone we know that has been has raved about this burger. I thought it had been a bit of an exaggeration.
But it wasn't. Mine was medium rare, and the patty was perfectly cooked, with pink insides. It had crisp, streaky bacon, crunchy onion rings, cheddar cheese, mustard, and this divine habanero chili sauce that I am in love with.
It was so, so, so good. Oh and there was a tiny little gherkin on the top. That made me love it more.
Anyway, I hope those of you in Sydney are staying safe and hydrated in the heat. I'm going to have an ice cold drink after my swim (:
xx gee
